Wolong Base of China Conservation and Research Center for Giant Panda

Located in Wolong nature reserve, it’s the best place to observe giant pandas in the world.

Wolong China Giant Panda Garden, located in Shenshuping Base of China Conservation and Research Center for Giant Panda, which was built with the assistance of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) government covering an area of 1.5 km² at cost of about 230 million yuan. There are 59 giant panda houses, which can hold 60 to 80 giant pandas. The base is divided into three areas: Shenshuping giant panda breeding and observation area, wild training for captive giant panda area, and an area releasing captive giant pandas into the wild.

At present, there are more than 70 giant pandas, including 13 panda cubs in No.1 Panda Kindergarten. Wolong China Giant Panda Park, built with local materials, in accordance with the terrain and surrounded by mountains and rivers, aims to provide giant pandas with a free and comfortable living environment. The lively giant pandas here are integrated with the natural and ecological environment. You can enjoy the beautiful natural scenery of Wolong while watching the pandas.

This is the biology classroom of giant pandas, a world-class giant panda research center integrating feeding, breeding, research, wild training, release study, public education, and high-end scientific observation. The establishment of the base provides a comfortable habitat for the world’s largest population of the captive giant panda.
